North Bend Upgrades Intersection to Four-Way Stop for School Safety

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

North Bend Public Works crews recently transformed the intersection of 3rd Street and Ballarat Avenue North into a four-way stop, coinciding with the start of the new school year on August 26. This public safety improvement project enhances sight distance for drivers while introducing fresh street markings and signage at the southeast corner. The upgrade replaces old crosswalk signage with larger 30-inch stop signs and adds "All Way" signs for clarity. To help drivers adjust, the new stop signs will feature orange flags for the first few months. City officials ask for patience from residents and businesses as the community adapts to the new traffic pattern.

Deputy Public Works Director Tom Mohr is available for any inquiries or concerns. This initiative reflects North Bend’s ongoing commitment to improving traffic safety in high pedestrian areas, especially during school hours. The modifications aim to reduce the risk of accidents and promote safer travel for students and families.
