Mount Si High School Volleyball Team Launches Sneaker Drive Fundraiser

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

The Mount Si High School Volleyball Booster Club is actively conducting a sneaker drive fundraiser to support their volleyball programs, which began with their home match on September 16, 2024. The initiative encourages community members to donate gently worn, used, and new sneakers, creating a win-win situation by raising funds while promoting environmental sustainability. Partnering with GotSneakers, the program compensates the club based on the number of sneakers collected, helping to divert shoes from landfills. Amy Walker, the President of the Mount Si Volleyball Boosters, expressed excitement over the fundraiser, noting that many people have extra sneakers they would prefer to donate rather than discard. Head Coach Brady King shared his appreciation for the community's support, highlighting the importance of fan attendance and participation in events like the sneaker drive.

With the season underway, the volleyball team is focused on training hard and achieving success. Donations can be made at any home match during the season, with a collection bin available for contributions. Those wishing to donate outside of matches can reach out to fundraising lead Michael Gibbs for additional options.
