First New I-90/SR 18 Interchange Ramps Open Week of September 9

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is preparing to open the first ramps of the newly designed diverging diamond interchange at the I-90/SR 18 interchange near Snoqualmie during the week of September 9. This development marks a significant milestone in the ongoing interchange improvements project, which aims to enhance traffic flow and safety in the area. The initial switch to the new configuration will occur overnight on September 9, with the SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway on-ramp to westbound I-90 being the first to transition. Following that, the eastbound I-90 off-ramp to SR 18 will shift to the new layout on September 12. WSDOT urges drivers to remain vigilant and adhere to new signage and striping during this transition.

In addition to the ramp openings, overnight work will include closures for the installation of overhead sign structures, with signed detours provided for affected routes. The full completion of the new interchange is expected in early 2025, promising improved traffic management for the region. This project is crucial for local commuters and travelers alike, as it aims to alleviate congestion and enhance safety.
