Duvall Artist Breathes New Life Into Iconic Bridge Trolls

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

Local artist Randy Berg has revitalized the iconic trolls on the Duvall Bridge, a project that reflects both her personal history and the community's spirit. Growing up in Duvall, Berg first encountered the trolls during a school project in 2014, igniting a lifelong fascination. With the bridge closed for repairs, she saw a perfect opportunity to restore these beloved figures alongside Bruce Edwards, the original creator. The restoration involved replacing weathered boards, preserving the trolls’ quirky details, and repainting them in vibrant hues. Berg expressed her joy in the final result, highlighting how the refreshed trolls now radiate life and joy.

This project not only celebrates Berg's artistic vision but also strengthens community ties, as many locals contributed tools and materials. Mayor Amy Ockerlander praised the effort, emphasizing the city's commitment to public art that reflects its spirit. With more art projects planned, Duvall is transforming into a vibrant hub for local creativity.
