This locomotive holds the distinction of being the oldest existing Northern Pacific diesel-electric locomotive in Washington State, symbolizing a pivotal moment in railway history. Alery, a skilled marine diesel technician, was not only successful in his career but also an avid railway enthusiast who volunteered at the museum.
