In a heartfelt tribute to Jared Thomas Fredrick Alery, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 29, his family has donated $30,774. 99 to the Northwest Railway Museum for the restoration of Locomotive 125. This locomotive holds the distinction of being the oldest existing Northern Pacific diesel-electric locomotive in Washington State, symbolizing a pivotal moment in railway history. Alery, a skilled marine diesel technician, was not only successful in his career but also an avid railway enthusiast who volunteered at the museum. His contributions to the museum included restoring historic artifacts and promoting the significance of railways in shaping modern society.

Born in Stevens Point, WI, Alery graduated from WyoTech and quickly became respected in the marine division of his field.
