Westbound I-90 Lane Closures Sept. 1921 Affecting Snoqualmie and Issaquah for Bridge Repairs
Westbound I-90 will reduce to a single lane from September 19-21 for bridge repairs in Issaquah, causing significant traffic delays. The left two lanes will close, and the Front Street on-ramp will also shut down, with a signed detour guiding drivers to alternate routes. Travelers should anticipate delays during peak times and a reduced speed limit of 45 mph in the work zone for safety. The westbound I-90 off-ramp to SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway will close from 9 p. m.
on September 19 until 5 a. m. on September 22 for guardrail and curbing installation. Additionally, from September 18 to October 5, eastbound I-90 will see lane reductions for expansion joint replacements. The bridge repairs are part of a larger project aimed at extending the lifespan of structures built in the early 1970s.
Crews will continue similar work for two more weekends after the Issaquah Salmon Days festival. The Washington State Department of Transportation emphasizes the need for dry weather to carry out the repairs, which may lead to rescheduling if rain is forecast.
