Snohomish County Seeks Proposals for Youth Family Resource Centers to Boost In-Person Community

Snohomish County is inviting proposals for Youth and Family Resource Centers, a critical step to enhance support services in South Snohomish County, which currently lacks certified centers. Announced by County Executive Dave Somers, this initiative addresses the escalating needs of families grappling with the pandemic's aftermath. Funded through the federal American Rescue Plan Act, the initiative aims to empower community-based organizations that directly assist families with services ranging from financial aid to employment connections. Council Chair Jared Mead highlighted the effective use of federal recovery dollars to enhance support for underserved communities. A total of $500,000 is available, with grants between $50,000 and $250,000 for successful applicants.

The proposal underscores the importance of personal, face-to-face assistance in helping families navigate available resources. Interested organizations can access the RFP through the county's website, with applications accepted until January 20, 2023. This initiative builds on a previous investment of $1. 8 million in Youth and Family Resource Hubs, which aided nearly 2,700 individuals in 2022.
