2025 Property Tax Information

Snohomish, WALocal News

The Snohomish County Assessor’s Office has released its 2025 property tax information, revealing a 5. 96% increase in total property taxes, amounting to $1. 851 billion. This reflects a significant rise from the previous year's total of $1. 747 billion, driven by higher assessed property values that jumped from $212 billion to $223 billion.

The typical levy rate has also increased slightly from $8. 2288 to $8. 2769 per thousand dollars of assessed value. In 2024, voters approved 11 out of 21 property tax measures, which will influence the upcoming tax statements. The increases are attributed to various factors, including multi-year lid lifts and banked capacity utilized by some districts, with the City of Lynnwood seeing the highest increase at around 52%.

For seniors and individuals with disabilities, property tax relief programs are available, with a new disposable income threshold set at $75,000 for eligibility in 2025. Information regarding these relief options can be found on the Assessor's website. Tax statements are expected to be mailed out in mid-February, providing residents with essential details about their property tax obligations.
