Snohomish County Cities Join Outdoor Burning Ban Taking Effect July 1

Snohomish, WALocal News

The Snohomish County Fire Marshal implemented a Stage 1 outdoor burning ban effective July 1 through August 31, 2025, due to increased fire danger. This ban affects unincorporated areas of Snohomish County and multiple cities, including Everett and Lynnwood, prohibiting all residential burning with few exceptions. Recreational fires are permitted if they are less than three feet in diameter, monitored, and located at a safe distance from structures. Residents must keep a water source nearby to manage any potential fire hazards. The ban will remain in place through August and may extend further if conditions do not improve.

A "Red Flag Warning" will trigger an immediate prohibition on all outdoor burning, including recreational fires. The Snohomish County Planning and Development Services urges residents to prioritize safety and exercise caution with fire usage. For updates, the public can contact their Outdoor Burning Information Hotline.
