The Snohomish County Assessor’s Office announced that new assessment notices will be mailed to property owners on June 27, 2025. The 2024 real estate market experienced steady appreciation, with residential sale prices rising by an average of 6. 26% and commercial values increasing by 2. 68%. This results in an overall countywide assessed value increase of 5.

Assessor Linda Hjelle recommends that property owners discuss any concerns with appraisal staff before filing appeals to the Board of Equalization. The appeal process does not require legal representation but necessitates presenting evidence that the assessed value is incorrect. Petitions must be filed within 60 days of the notice being mailed.

Various tax relief programs are available, including exemptions for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
