Kosher Dining Grows in Downtown Silver Spring Cafe K Set to Open in June

Silver Spring, MDLocal News

Cafe K will open its doors in early June at 1300 Spring St. in downtown Silver Spring, taking over the former David’s Cafe location. Owner Dan Kugler, a veteran in the window treatment and design industry, is launching the restaurant for his son-in-law Shai Kornblau, who dreams of cafe ownership. The restaurant will offer a kosher dairy menu, featuring items like fresh bagels, paninis, and salads, all made with high-quality kosher ingredients certified by the Vaad Harabanim of Greater Washington. Customers can also enjoy locally roasted Nagadi Coffee, enhancing the cafe's appeal.

Approximately four to six weeks post-launch, Cafe K plans to introduce dinner options, pending the acquisition of a wine license. Kugler is working with a renowned Israeli chef to develop the menu, ensuring a distinctive culinary experience. This initiative aligns with the increasing interest in kosher dining options in Silver Spring, catering to both local and regional clientele.
