Silver Spring, MDLocal News

Top Pot Hot Pot & K BBQ has announced a lease for the former Red Lobster site at 8533 Georgia Ave. in Downtown Silver Spring, expanding its franchise of all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ and Chinese hot pot restaurants. The 7,264-square-foot location, which closed last year due to its previous tenant's bankruptcy, will be Top Pot's thirteenth establishment. Laurie Yankowski from The Peterson Companies confirmed the lease but did not provide a timeline for the opening. The restaurant's menu will include traditional Korean BBQ options alongside a variety of hot pot selections, featuring eight different soup bases.

Unlimited banchan, or small side dishes, will complement the main offerings. Top Pot aims to create a vibrant dining experience, encouraging gatherings among friends and family. This new venue will be the second all-you-can-eat Korean concept in downtown Silver Spring, following Firepan Korean BBQ. Founder Eddie Zheng highlighted the restaurant's mission to inspire long-lasting memories through diverse flavors and cultures.
