Shepherds Table Executive Director Manny Hidalgo to Depart in July

Manny Hidalgo will leave his role as Executive Director of Shepherd’s Table at the end of July after six impactful years. Since his appointment in 2019, he has successfully doubled the nonprofit's budget and staff, demonstrating effective leadership through the COVID-19 pandemic. Hidalgo oversaw a 30 percent rise in meal demand, responding to increased homelessness in Montgomery County. He also introduced four innovative programs, including a Culinary Skills Training Program and the Beyond the Table Mobile Meals Program, which generated over $300,000 in unrestricted income. The organization served its two millionth meal in 2021 and now averages 422 meals daily, reflecting a growing need in the community.

Board Chair Sonya Snedecor praised Hidalgo for his dedication to the Shepherd’s Table mission. In response to his departure, the board has established a search committee and hired LeaderFit to find a successor. Hidalgo emphasized the meaningful experience of working with the staff in a press release.
