Buckets and Beats Youth Block Party Returns to Downtown Silver Spring Friday
The Buckets and Beats Youth Block Party will be held this Friday at Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring, promoting community engagement among middle and high school students after their early dismissal from Montgomery County Public Schools. Attendees can enjoy basketball and pickleball tournaments, arts activities from CREATE Arts Center, a live DJ, and free food and prizes. Students aged 12 and older are encouraged to register for the basketball tournament, while the pickleball tournament will accommodate participants without prior registration. Council President Kate Stewart highlighted the event as a vital opportunity to connect youth with local resources and services, including mental health support and recreational programs. The celebration seeks to create a fun and safe atmosphere for young people in Silver Spring.
Last year, the event attracted a significant number of participants, underscoring its popularity and local relevance. More details and registration for the basketball tournament are available at silverspringdowntown. com. The Buckets and Beats event exemplifies the community's commitment to youth engagement and well-being.
