Commas Food Hall Opens in Downtown Silver Spring with Live Music and Food Samples

Silver Spring, MDLocal News

Commas food hall opens this weekend in downtown Silver Spring, featuring a grand celebration with live music, food samples, and a raffle for an iPad Air. The venue occupies a 13,000-square-foot space in the former F21 Red location, aiming to establish itself as a community hub with ten culinary concepts already committed. GBT Realty's COO Trey Culpepper emphasized the food hall's prime location in Ellsworth Place, which offers easy access from the shopping center. Several vendors, including 6 Skewers and Tato’s, have already soft-opened, while two stalls remain available for interested vendors. Fireten Hospitality CEO Jeremy Barker stated that the diverse offerings will appeal to Silver Spring's ethnically diverse community.

The opening is expected to enhance the local dining landscape, which has seen a growing interest in food halls and public markets. GBT Realty acquired Ellsworth Place in 2018, partnering with Fireten Hospitality to bring this concept to life. Commas aims to provide a gathering spot for residents and visitors alike, reinforcing Silver Spring's reputation as a vibrant community.
