Montgomery County Police are actively seeking the public's help to identify a possible witness in the unsolved murder of Charles “Joe” Reynolds, who was found fatally shot in a downtown Silver Spring garage in December 2022. Reynolds, 62, was last seen packing leftovers into his car after a family dinner when he was shot. Law enforcement released a photo of a man believed to have information pertinent to the investigation but did not provide further details. Reynolds’ widow, Karis Hastings, spoke at a press conference, urging anyone with information to come forward for the sake of the community's safety. Former police chief Marcus Jones reassured the public that the investigation would continue until suspects are identified and prosecuted.

The case remains unresolved, prompting police to encourage potential witnesses to contact the Cold Case Unit. A reward of up to $10,000 is available for information leading to an arrest. The community's support is crucial for bringing justice to Reynolds’ family and ensuring public safety.
