Downtown Silver Spring Retail Shift Fantasticks Closes, Be Miyghty Fitness Moves

Silver Spring, MDLocal News

Fantasticks has permanently closed its gelato shop at 915 Ellsworth Drive in Downtown Silver Spring, which opened in summer 2024 in a space previously occupied by Starbucks. The closure occurred shortly after the shop adjusted its hours to weekends only and was confirmed by a company representative. Be Miyghty Fitness has relocated to 937 Ellsworth Drive, which was once the site of the Sleep Number store, after moving earlier this year from the former MyEyeDr. location. The fitness studio, owned by Wane Mendoza, offers a variety of classes, including yoga, MMA, and strength training, aimed at providing comprehensive fitness options.

Mendoza highlights the need for diverse training within the community, allowing clients to access multiple fitness modalities in one location. The management company for the Downtown Silver Spring development has not yet announced a replacement tenant for Fantasticks. The closure of Fantasticks reflects ongoing changes in the local retail landscape, while Be Miyghty Fitness continues to adapt and expand its offerings. Bethesda blogger Robert Dyer first reported on the fitness studio's relocation.
