Around 4:40 AM, police responded to gunfire near Harvard and Denny, where they located the victim, a man in his 30s, at a nearby apartment building. He was quickly transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the pelvis, prompting police to search for a suspect described as a black male wearing a beanie and a blue rain jacket. In a separate incident, officers were called to Diesel Bar around 2:13 AM, where a knife fight had resulted in injuries to two individuals; one was taken into custody after sustaining knife wounds. Additionally, a First Hill man was arrested for a violent hate crime after he assaulted a woman while shouting racial slurs.

The suspect was apprehended without incident and is facing charges of assault and a bias crime. These incidents highlight ongoing safety concerns in the Capitol Hill area and reflect the urgency of police responses to rising violence.
