Seattle, WALocal News

In the early hours of Friday, February 28, 2025, a two-alarm fire broke out at the Kaylin Lee Apartments on 12th Ave in Seattle, leading to significant firefighting efforts. The Seattle Fire Department was alerted just after 4:30 AM and escalated its response to control the blaze, which was successfully contained by 5 AM. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported, although the fire posed a threat to nearby structures. Investigators later determined that the cause was accidental, likely stemming from an overheated electrical power strip that ignited combustible materials. One resident was displaced due to the fire and received assistance from the Red Cross.

Damage to the 1960-era apartment building is currently being assessed, and efforts are in place to support affected residents. During the firefighting response, 12th Ave between Denny and Howell was closed to traffic to ensure safety and facilitate operations. This incident highlights the importance of addressing electrical safety in residential settings.
