Capitol Hills Rocket Taco launches plan for big move across the street

Seattle, WALocal News

Rocket Taco, a beloved dining spot in Capitol Hill, Seattle, is making a significant transition by moving to a new location across the street from its current site. After seven years at the historic Kingfish Cafe location, the restaurant will now occupy a space in the 2014-built 19th & Mercer luxury apartments. Owner Steve Rosen confirmed the move, citing excitement for a modern kitchen and an expansive patio that will enhance the dining experience. The previous occupant, Bounty Kitchen, faced challenges during the pandemic and closed in 2023, paving the way for Rocket Taco's new beginning. Although there are no major changes planned for the menu or atmosphere, Rosen noted the potential for serving margaritas on the patio, which adds a new dimension to the dining experience.

Rocket Taco has been known for its quality, affordable, handmade food, and will maintain its focus on speed and consistency in the new location. The restaurant is targeting a late February opening, marking a fresh chapter for this Capitol Hill staple. With its relocation, Rocket Taco aims to continue serving the community while embracing the opportunities of a more modern space.
