The San Diego County Fair opens Wednesday, running for 20 days and drawing nearly 900,000 attendees last year. The theme, Summer Pet-tacular, includes a pooch fun run and various pet-themed contests, though pets are not allowed at the fairgrounds. Operating Wednesday through Sunday, the fair provides free parking at Canyon Crest Academy along with shuttle services. Visitors can save $9 on admission with a $10 grocery purchase, and kids under 12 can enter free on Fridays. Unlimited rides are available for $55 on Wednesdays and Thursdays, making it a good deal for families.

This year, the concert lineup features notable acts such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and 2 Chainz, with concert tickets serving as fair admission. The fair continues to be a long-standing tradition in San Diego, dating back to 1880. With over 100 food vendors, attendees can enjoy a variety of deep-fried treats, including meal deals for $15.
