Fire Station #82 in Sammamish has recently completed extensive renovations, marking the first major updates to the facility in 35 years. Used by Eastside Fire & Rescue, the station now boasts enhanced features that comply with current federal and local codes, following a thorough analysis conducted in 2018. Construction began in 2023 and expanded the station by 900 square feet, introducing single-occupant gender-neutral sleeping quarters, a modernized kitchen, and a new dining area. A state-of-the-art fire sprinkler system has been installed to improve safety, and a new generator has been added to ensure power availability during emergencies. Local officials, including Mayor Karen Howe and Deputy Mayor Amy Lam, toured the facility, highlighting the project's significance for community safety and operational efficiency.

The renovations not only address existing deficiencies but also enhance the overall functionality of the station. This initiative reflects Sammamish’s commitment to maintaining high standards for public safety services. As the community continues to grow, such upgrades are essential for sustaining effective emergency response capabilities.
