The Sammamish Library hosted a successful “Teen Author Panel” on July 20, featuring three inspiring teen authors: Taanvi Arekapudi, Amy Zhao, and Sophie Hallali. Each author shared their unique journeys and insights into the writing process, aiming to motivate other aspiring writers. Taanvi Arekapudi, at just 15 years old, spoke about her debut book “Uplift Teens Today,” which reflects her experiences dealing with emotional trauma after relocating from Ireland to Seattle. She emphasized the significance of having a support system, stating that writing helped her articulate feelings of loss and isolation. Amy Zhao and Sophie Hallali also contributed their perspectives, showcasing a variety of genres and themes.

The panel not only served as a platform for the authors to share their stories but also engaged the audience in discussions about the importance of youth voices in literature. This event underscored the library's commitment to fostering creativity among young people in the community.
