The Issaquah Ski & Snowboard School (ISS) has been dedicated to educating local youth in winter sports since 1969, serving as a crucial resource for families in the Eastside community. The program offers transportation from four locations to The Summit at Snoqualmie, where students can participate in skiing and snowboarding every Saturday from January 11 for eight weeks. Participants can select either transportation only or a comprehensive package that includes lessons tailored to their skill levels. ISS President Ryan Clark, a long-time volunteer, emphasizes the organization’s mission to enable children to enjoy the outdoors while fostering independence and self-reliance. The program partners with Symbolic Coach Lines for safe transportation and Snow Sports Northwest for professional instruction, ensuring students are well-prepared for their mountain adventures.

With over five decades of collaboration with Snow Sports Northwest, ISS prioritizes safety and skill development in its curriculum. Parents like Kathy Carper have praised the program for its positive impact on their children's confidence and abilities on the slopes. With registrations now open for the 2025 season, ISS continues to encourage families to participate, reinforcing its role as a community staple for winter sports education.
