Sammamish Infrastructure Projects: ADA Barrier Removal, Road Maintenance, and More

Sammamish, WALocal News

The city of Sammamish is actively working on several infrastructure enhancement projects to improve accessibility and road safety for its residents. The ADA Barrier Removal Project, which started on July 15, focuses on replacing non-compliant curb ramps and damaged sidewalk panels along 228th Avenue Southeast, with completion expected by September 18. Concurrently, maintenance work on 212th Avenue Southeast will involve asphalt repairs beginning August 12, leading to single lane closures. An Overlay Project is also ongoing, with crews replacing pavement on Issaquah Fall City Road from August 5 to August 16. During July and August, road striping and thermoplastic markings maintenance will refresh existing roadway markings, with intermittent work causing potential delays.

Additionally, crews are repainting traffic signal and street light poles on Southeast 30th Street, with operations scheduled from 8 p. m. to 5 a. m. The public is encouraged to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the Louis Thompson Tightline Project on August 29 at Ebright Park.

Lastly, Sammamish Plateau Water will begin a Sewer Smoke Testing Project next week, notifying affected customers in advance.
