Redmond, WALocal News

The City of Redmond is launching a Small Business Resiliency Grant Program, with applications opening on October 16, 2023. This initiative, created in collaboration with OneRedmond, will provide $5,000 grants to small, for-profit businesses that have faced financial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The city has allocated over $500,000 for this fourth round of funding, which is sourced from the American Rescue Plan Act. Mayor Angela Birney emphasized the critical role of small businesses in maintaining the local economy, stating the city's commitment to their success. Kristina Hudson, CEO of OneRedmond, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the vulnerability of small businesses during the pandemic.

Eligible businesses must reside within the 98052 zip code and have no more than 10 employees. A lottery system will determine grant recipients, ensuring a fair distribution of funds. To assist applicants, a webinar will be held on October 17, and in-person sessions will provide multilingual application support.
