The City of Redmond recently celebrated the opening of the Overlake Village Pedestrian Bridge, a critical infrastructure project designed to enhance connectivity in the region. The $10. 4 million project received funding from a $1. 6 million Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program grant, a $5 million Transportation Alternatives Program grant, and additional city funds.

Mayor Angela Birney highlighted the successful partnership between the City of Redmond and Sound Transit, showcasing their commitment to sustainable transportation solutions. The bridge features unique artwork titled "Verdant," created by Seattle artist Leo Saul Berk, which reflects Redmond's technological history through its design.
