Redmond, WA, is preparing for its annual Derby Days festival, a beloved summer tradition, happening on July 12 and 13, 2024. This vibrant two-day event will be hosted at the Redmond City Hall campus, featuring exhilarating bicycle races at the renowned Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome. Mayor Angela Birney highlighted the festival's variety, stating it caters to diverse interests with festive parades, live music, and an array of food options. The festivities kick off on Friday night with bike races for all ages at Marymoor Park, followed by a shuttle to City Hall for dinner and live performances. Saturday promises a fun-filled day with the Kids Bike Parade and the Derby Days Grand Parade, alongside activities at Redmond Town Center and City Hall.
