By the end of January 2025, all marked patrol cars will feature the 988 decals, ensuring the number is readily visible to the public. This initiative is part of a broader effort to provide immediate access to trained crisis counselors 24/7 for individuals facing suicidal thoughts, substance use issues, or other mental health crises. Chief Darrell Lowe emphasized the importance of this visibility, stating, "Many people experience crises and may not know where to turn for help. " The 988 Lifeline is a free, confidential service available nationwide, including in U.
