The City of Redmond's Downtown Park has been honored with the Award of Excellence for Small-Scale Public Landscapes from the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects. This accolade recognizes the innovative design and careful planning that have turned the park into a vibrant urban space. Designed by PFS Studio, the park is more than just a green space; it serves as a central hub for community engagement and cultural activities in Redmond, WA. Mayor Angela Birney highlighted the collaboration of city staff and designers, stating that the park exemplifies the city's commitment to creating inclusive and dynamic spaces. Key features of Redmond Downtown Park include a 550-foot-diameter circular lawn, a splash pad, an events plaza, and sculptural seating integrated throughout the park.

The design also incorporates over 100 new trees and pays homage to the site's history as a peat bog and Indigenous foraging area. This award-winning park aims to adapt to various community events throughout the year, making it a cornerstone of the local culture.
