City of Redmond Seeks Youth Advocate for Parks and Recreation Commission

The City of Redmond is actively seeking a youth advocate to join the Parks, Trails, and Recreation Commission, encouraging high school students living in Redmond to apply. Students aged 14 to 18 are eligible for this one-year term position, which can be renewed for another year. The commission serves as a platform for youth to learn about local government operations and engage with public policies that affect their community. By participating, youth advocates will represent the interests of their peers in discussions with the City Council and other commission members. They will also advise on key projects such as volunteer coordination, trail navigation, and recreational programming strategies.

Monthly meetings are scheduled for the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p. m. , with a preference for in-person participation at Redmond City Hall.
