Pop-Up Dog Parks to Return to Redmond

Redmond, WALocal News

Redmond, WA, is set to welcome back its beloved pop-up dog parks, with the Luke McRedmond location now open and a second site at Hartman Park expected to open shortly. This initiative stems from a growing demand for dog-friendly spaces, as identified in the community's 2017 Parks, Arts, Recreation, Culture, and Conservation (PARCC) Plan. Mayor Angela Birney expressed her enthusiasm for the return of these parks, noting the joy they brought to residents and their pets last year. Each off-leash area will be fully fenced and will include designated spaces for both small and large dogs, ensuring a safe environment for all visitors. The parks will be open from dawn to dusk, with a limit of two dogs per handler and strict rules regarding pet waste management.

The city plans to keep these parks operational until September and August, respectively, to evaluate their popularity and gather feedback for future developments. Residents can report any issues or provide suggestions through the City’s Q-Alert system and an online questionnaire. This initiative underscores Redmond's commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities for its community and their furry companions.
