Redmond Seeks Volunteer Salary Commissioners

Redmond, WALocal News

The City of Redmond is seeking volunteers for seven available seats on the Redmond Salary Commission, which is tasked with determining the salaries of City Council members. The commission does not impose duties or obligations on the council positions, maintaining a nonpartisan stance. Candidates must be residents of Redmond and comply with state and local laws, including the Redmond Salary Commission Municipal Code Chapter 4. 47. The time commitment involves attending approximately two meetings per month from August 1 to October 31, 2024, with the possibility of additional special meetings.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete training in Open Public Meetings Act requirements before the commission's start date. While there is no formal deadline to apply, an initial screening of applicants will begin on June 11, 2024, and final confirmations of selected commissioners will be made on July 16, 2024. Interested applicants can visit the City of Redmond's website for more information on qualifications and application procedures.
