Security cameras capture bizarre break-in after men 'called police on themselves'

Puyallup, WALocal News

In a bizarre turn of events in Puyallup, Washington, a man named Larrick Firkins reported a break-in attempt where the suspects called the police on themselves before attempting to enter his garage. While Firkins was away picking up a family member from the airport, his security cameras recorded the peculiar situation as the men claimed to the police that they had belongings inside the garage. After officers arrived and told the men to leave, they surprisingly returned shortly after. The footage revealed the group discussing tools such as bolt cutters and a double-sided axe, which they ultimately used to break the lock on Firkins' garage. Despite their audacious plan, the presence of the cameras seemed to deter them from stealing anything substantial, although they did manage to take one of the cameras.

Firkins expressed his disbelief, stating that it is strange for thieves to call the police on themselves before committing a crime. The Puyallup Police Department is currently investigating the incident, urging anyone with information to come forward. This peculiar case highlights the importance of home security systems in deterring crime.
