Tacoma police shot and killed a man suspected of carjacking after he allegedly stole two vehicles and led officers on a high-speed chase through Pierce County. The incident unfolded when the suspect carjacked a 67-year-old woman, who was subsequently hospitalized for her injuries. Her son, Isaid Campos, witnessed the terrifying moment via a FaceTime call from Mexico, providing a harrowing account of the attack. Following the initial carjacking, the suspect continued to flee, leading police on a pursuit into Puyallup where spike strips were deployed to stop him. The chase ended with a crash, and when the suspect exited the vehicle, he confronted officers with a weapon, prompting them to fire.

No officers were injured during the incident. Investigators are still working to determine the suspect's identity and the type of weapon involved. This alarming series of events highlights increasing violence associated with carjackings across various jurisdictions.
