Dow Constantine approved as Sound Transit CEO

Dow Constantine has been appointed as the new CEO of Sound Transit, taking office on April 1. This decision follows a rigorous selection process that evaluated 60 applicants, showcasing Constantine's strong leadership qualifications. Sound Transit Board Chair Dave Somers underscored the importance of Constantine's experience in managing large organizations and fostering crucial partnerships that will be instrumental in achieving the agency's regional objectives. In his statement, Constantine expressed his honor in being selected and his long-standing commitment to enhancing transit systems throughout Central Puget Sound. His contract is set to last until December 2026 and includes an annual salary of $450,000.

To ensure a seamless transition, interim CEO Goran Sparrman will serve as an advisor until May 2025. This leadership change comes at a critical time for Sound Transit as it aims to advance its projects and improve regional transportation. The appointment reflects a significant step toward achieving the agency's goals for a robust transit network in the region.
