Puyallup, WALocal News

A tragic incident in Puyallup, Washington, left 28-year-old motorcyclist David Ware seriously injured after being struck by a suspected drunk driver, a 72-year-old man. The crash resulted in multiple surgeries for Ware, including the painful amputation of his lower leg, as detailed by his mother, LeAnn Rosencrans. She expressed the emotional roller coaster her family has endured, stressing that the accident was entirely preventable and urging the community to take action against drunk driving. Ware's injuries included a torn aorta and significant internal damage, yet he remains optimistic, having recently started limited physical therapy. His mother shared that he has no memory of the crash, recalling only his previous travels in Alaska.

As Ware continues his recovery at Harborview Medical Center, Rosencrans is advocating for greater awareness around the dangers of driving under the influence. The family has set up a GoFundMe to help cover the escalating medical expenses associated with his treatment. Their story serves as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of impaired driving and the importance of community intervention.
