Snake River Family Festival planned June 14 at Boyer Park and Marina

The Port of Whitman County will host its eighth annual Snake River Family Festival on June 14 from 11 a. m. to 2 p. m. at Boyer Park and Marina, located about 20 miles south of Colfax.

This free community event includes a barbecue lunch, Ferdinand’s ice cream, and live music by Sammy Eubanks, making it a family-friendly gathering. Local exhibitors such as the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife will provide educational exhibits related to the Columbia-Snake River System. Activities are tailored for all ages, promoting community engagement and environmental awareness.

Attendees can also enter a raffle for a chance to win a half-day guided jet boat tour for two, courtesy of Snake River Adventures. The event not only celebrates the region's waterways but also aims to strengthen community ties. The festival has become a staple in the local calendar, drawing attention to the importance of the river system. Organizers hope to enhance participation and raise awareness about the environmental significance of the Columbia-Snake River System.
