NPC Clerk Weeks elected to Idaho State Bar

Pullman, WALocal News

Patty Weeks has been elected to the Idaho State Bar Board of Commissioners, representing the 1st and 2nd districts in a year marking the bar's 100th anniversary. With a background in law and public service, Weeks intends to leverage her experience to support the commission’s goals of overseeing lawyer conduct and enhancing justice administration. She highlighted her roles in the courthouse, noting her statutory expertise as clerk, auditor, and recorder. The Idaho Bar was created in 1925, and Weeks is the 38th commissioner from northern Idaho, a role historically held by men. She is one of only three women to occupy this position in the past six years, following Jillian H.

Caires and Anne-Marie Fulfer. The American Bar Association was established in 1876, just 49 years before Idaho's Bar. Weeks’ election reflects a gradual shift towards greater gender representation in legal leadership positions. Her contributions may influence future policies and practices within the Idaho Bar.
