Former Washington State University student convicted of rape that took place in 2023

Pullman, WALocal News

Isaac Andrade, 24, was convicted of third-degree rape by a Whitman County jury in Colfax, Washington, after a week-long trial. The charge stemmed from a November 2023 incident where Andrade assaulted a woman after they met at a fraternity party. After the victim sought help from a neighbor, police collected evidence from Andrade's apartment, including her clothing and DNA. Andrade denied the allegations during police questioning, but the evidence corroborated the victim's account. The Whitman County Prosecutor's Office plans to argue for the maximum sentence of one year in jail, emphasizing the importance of holding Andrade accountable.

Additionally, Andrade will be required to register as a sex offender and will face probation upon release. The victim will receive a sexual assault protection order for five years, highlighting the ongoing support for survivors of sexual violence. Andrade was released on pretrial conditions and is scheduled for sentencing on July 18.
