Colfax mayor updates Chamber on city projects

The city plans to invest more than $6 million in water system improvements, including key upgrades to pressure valves and reservoir transmission lines. Retzer confirmed the city has secured $975,000 in grants and will likely borrow $5,105,000 to fund these projects. He emphasized the city's responsibility to ensure reliable water and sewer services for residents. Additionally, Retzer assured attendees that renovations to the municipal pool would be completed by summer, supported by a $1 million grant aimed at making the facility ADA-compliant.

The mayor addressed concerns regarding playground equipment safety and affirmed that the city's financial standing is solid. He also mentioned the uncertain timeline for the U. S. Highway 195 North Fork Bridge Replacement roundabout due to recent funding cuts. The proactive approach of city officials highlights their commitment to maintaining infrastructure and community services.
