Approximately 60 students from Moscow High School rallied at Friendship Square on Friday to address pressing social and political issues. Organized by the United Youth of Moscow, the event provided a platform for students to express their views on abortion rights, LGBTQ rights, and free speech. K'Den Bledsoe, an MHS senior and member of the group, stated that the rally aimed to create a supportive environment for students who feel discontent with the government. Many participants chose to skip classes to attend, showcasing their dedication to these causes. The turnout surpassed Bledsoe's expectations, highlighting the significant interest among students in civic engagement.

The rally featured personal stories about experiences with racism and abuse, emphasizing the need for solidarity among youth. This event reflects a broader trend of increasing youth activism in response to political and social issues. Students are increasingly willing to sacrifice academic performance to advocate for their beliefs.
