From February 18–24, 2024, the City of Pullman will celebrate National Engineers Week, highlighting the essential role of engineers in shaping a sustainable future. The article features three notable engineers: Ruth Younce, Morgan Porter, and Sean Wells, who share insights into their careers and the projects they are passionate about. Younce, a Civil Engineer with 21 years of experience, focuses on environmental sustainability and community involvement, exemplified by her work on the Welcome Wayside project. Morgan Porter, inspired by her engineering parents, has made significant contributions in her 2. 3 years with the city, advocating for innovative and environmentally friendly engineering solutions.

Sean Wells, the Public Works Director, brings 34 years of experience, emphasizing the importance of adapting engineering practices to meet societal needs. This recognition not only honors individual achievements but also showcases Pullman's commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive engineering community. By celebrating these engineers, the city aims to inspire future generations to pursue careers in STEM fields.
