Pullman Regular City Council Meetings to Begin at 530 P.M.

Pullman, WALocal News

Starting February 11, 2025, the Pullman City Council will shift its regular meeting time from 7:00 PM to 5:30 PM, as part of a three-month trial aimed at boosting public accessibility and engagement. The decision was reached during discussions at the January council meetings, leading to the adoption of Resolution No. R-02-25. Mayor Francis Benjamin highlighted the significance of enhancing community involvement in local governance. The trial period will extend until April 30, 2025, during which the council will evaluate whether the new time effectively increases attendance and participation.

Residents are invited to attend meetings in person at City Hall or participate by phone and live stream on the city’s YouTube channel. This adjustment underscores the council's commitment to promoting civic engagement and transparency in local government. By potentially altering the meeting time, the council seeks to accommodate a broader audience, allowing more citizens to engage in governmental processes. Feedback from the community will play a crucial role in deciding if this change will be made permanent.
