Project Downtown Pullman Bid Awarded

Pullman, WALocal News

The City of Pullman has taken a significant step towards revitalization by awarding the contract for Project Downtown Pullman to Apollo, Inc. , following a Special City Council Meeting on February 6th. This initiative is set to enhance the downtown area, with construction scheduled to begin in April 2024 and expected to conclude in the fall. The project will focus on the reconstruction of Main Street between Spring Street and Grand Avenue, addressing the need for updated sub-surface utilities and creating wider, more welcoming sidewalks. In addition to improving accessibility, the refreshed streetscape will attract more visitors and residents to the area.

To facilitate construction, Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic, redirecting it to Paradise Street, while Bishop Boulevard will serve as a temporary truck route. However, pedestrian access to local businesses will remain open, urging the community to support affected shops during the construction period. This project represents a significant investment in the future of downtown Pullman, enhancing both its functionality and aesthetic appeal.
