Police Arrest Juveniles for School Violence Threats

Pullman, WALocal News

In a concerning incident at Pullman High School, the Pullman Police Department arrested two 14-year-old juveniles after they allegedly threatened to bring a gun to school and shoot a teacher. The police responded promptly at around 8:01 a. m. , intercepting the suspects before classes commenced and placing the school in a “secure and teach” status to protect students. Investigations revealed that multiple students had heard about the threats the day before but did not report them, highlighting potential gaps in communication among students regarding safety concerns.

The suspects were charged with Felony Harassment and Threats to Bomb or Injure Property, and both were booked into Martin Hall Juvenile Detention Facility. Fortunately, no firearms were recovered, and no injuries were reported during the incident, allowing school operations to return to normal shortly thereafter. The case underscores the critical importance of school safety and the need for effective reporting mechanisms for students. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to ensure the safety of the school community. This incident adds to the ongoing national dialogue about youth violence and school safety protocols.
