Routine Thanksgiving air travel expected in the region
The Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional and Pullman-Moscow Regional Airports expect no major flight disruptions during the Thanksgiving travel season, despite a jet fuel pipeline shutdown affecting Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Directors Michael Isaacs and Tony Bean confirmed that their airports have not experienced any impacts, and operations remain normal. To address potential fuel shortages, Alaska Airlines is tankering fuel on inbound flights, while Delta is transporting extra fuel via tanker trucks. Washington Governor Bob Ferguson issued an emergency proclamation to suspend certain regulations, facilitating fuel transport. Travelers are encouraged to arrive at least 1½ hours prior for domestic flights, with Pullman projecting 6,000-7,000 arrivals and departures from Nov.
17 to Dec. 1. Security upgrades at Pullman will expedite screening by allowing valid photo identification only. Delta is closely monitoring the situation and will keep customers informed through updates.
