Pullman receives 500,000 grant for veterans park project
Pullman received a $500,000 grant from the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program for its Veterans Memorial Park project. The city announced the funding on Tuesday, confirming it is the maximum available in the Local Parks Category. To access the funds, Pullman must complete the park by the end of 2027. The estimated total project cost is $1. 75 million, with around $1 million raised through fundraising efforts with American Legion Post 52 and the grant.
Parks & Facilities Director Kurt Dahmen stated the community's passion for the project and expressed gratitude for the grant's impact. This funding significantly advances the city's goal of enhancing local recreational spaces. The Veterans Memorial Park aims to honor veterans while providing a community gathering place. The project reflects a broader commitment to improving public parks in Pullman.
