Whitman County District Courts Marlynn Markley honored
Marlynn Markley has been honored as the Court Manager of the Year by the state of Washington, recognizing her exceptional service to the Whitman County District Court. Nominated by District Judge John Hart, Markley’s award highlights her dedication to enhancing justice and access to court services. With 45 years of experience in the court system, including 41 years as the judicial services director, she is the longest-tenured employee in Washington’s judicial framework. Throughout her career, she collaborated with all four district court judges in Whitman County, contributing significantly to local governance. Markley has also actively participated in the Washington District and Municipal Court Manager’s Association, including leading its Education Committee.
Hart praised her commitment to ensuring justice for the people of Whitman County. Her retirement coincides with the transition to Melisse Stiglich, who previously served as a justice court administrator in Sandy, Utah. This transition marks a significant change in the local judicial landscape.
