Nominations open for Latah Countys Rosa Parks awards
The Latah County Human Rights Task Force invites nominations for the 2026 Rosa Parks Human Rights Achievement Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to human rights. Each year, two awards are presented: one for significant achievements in human rights and a Youth Award for high school or university students. To nominate someone, submit a one- or two-page letter outlining the nominee's accomplishments and background. Nominations can be sent to the Latah County Human Rights Task Force via mail or emailed to Joann Muneta. The awards will be presented during the Martin Luther King Jr.
Human Rights Community Breakfast on Jan. 24, 2026. This event serves to honor the recipients and promote community engagement in human rights advocacy. The deadline for nominations is Jan. 13, 2026, allowing ample time for community members to recognize deserving candidates.
The initiative highlights Latah County's commitment to celebrating and advancing human rights locally.
